Aeca-ITV, in collaboration with the Regional Government of Madrid, the Ministry of Economy, the Department of Industry and Competitiveness, Aeca-ITV and the National Department of Traffic will organize the 26 th PTI National Workshops, which will be held on May 17 th and 18 th in Madrid.
During the workshops, experts will present more than a dozen lectures on a wide range of topics. Particularly prominent among them is the block relating to the progress being carried out on the verification of exhaust emissions and the detection of possible fraud and manipulation of vehicles, an issue of common concern for the general public, especially after some well-known vehicle manufacturers admitted having committed fraud in the emissions of their vehicles.
The imminent publication of the Royal Decree on the PTI, which will be more demanding, will require a global review of the Inspection Procedure Manual with regard to its content as well as its structure and philosophy, so that national PTI regulation can meet the requirements laid down in the Directive EU 2014/45.
Finally, they will also address the new changes in the accreditation systems which ensure the independence and quality of the vehicle technical inspection.
