Only 2% of Spanish drivers change their summer tyres for winter ones. This figure is stated in a report by Goodyear, which concludes that Spanish drivers are still reluctant to put on winter tyres.
According to Goodyear, only 2% of Spanish drivers change their summer tyres for winter ones, a habit that is “residual” and “insufficient” in the country, where especially if you take into account the number of days that one circulates at temperatures below seven degrees. For this reason, the tyre manufacturer wants to educate drivers on safe driving with the arrival of the rains.
This figure is stated in a report by Goodyear, which confirms that the majority of Spanish drivers do not use winter tyres.
The vast majority mistakenly associate the use of these tyres only for snowy environments where this is not the case at all. This type of tyre is not only specially designed to provide maximum performance on snow-covered surfaces but also are perfectly valid in those colder or wet and slippery places, which may well be those of Galicia during rainy periods. Among its advice is to prepare the vehicle by improving its points of contact with the road. A task for which it recommends the use of its winter tyre UltraGrip 9 which, according to the manufacturer, provides optimal performance in different winter conditions from cold dry days to rainy weather, frost or snow.
